Participation Strategist

In search of Participation Strategists in the UK, Europe and Canada

We’re looking for people who can see out to the horizon — and beyond.

At Better Ventures, we bring participation-based business models to life for some of the world’s biggest (and most loved) brands. It’s an exciting journey — and a humbling one — especially as we participate in the great disruption that is recreating how businesses operate around the world. The changes we’re seeing are driven by matters of commerce, sure, but also the need for human connection in a fragmented world. These things are increasingly inseparable. And while these changes are being accelerated by our increasingly technology-connected lives they are also a product of the failures of outdated methods, business models and assumptions.

We’re finding that more and more organisations are acting not just in the interest of the next quarter or the next year. They’re actively seeking out what’s possible for organizations in 2020 or even 2030. They’re asking themselves these questions:

What new value can we create if we approach our work in a maximally inclusive way?

What is the best approach to leverage the full intellectual capacity and creative energy of our team, our consumers and fans, so that everyone can win?

Is the nature of our opportunity changing in ways that will require us to unlearn what we know today so we can conceive of the possibilities for tomorrow?

Are you our next Participation Strategist?

Strategy isn’t a one-time effort at Better. We’re with our clients all the way from their original big ambition to unique business model designs. We work with them on implementation, go to market, launch and the ongoing growth and commercialization of their projects.

Our Participation Strategists are key leaders in that process. They are our great combiners.

They synthesize the context of a client’s business and industry and their short and long term goals and marry them with a deep understanding of the applications of social communication, consumer participation and creative execution.

They build client relationships with everyone from the ground-level to the C-suite. They can articulate the possibilities and they can grind out the detailed work necessary to bring them to life.

They are typically globally-minded citizens, with an understanding of the intersections between business, culture, technology, innovation and politics.

They are deeply empathetic to our clients, our clients’ customers and their own teammates.

They’re all that and they’re fun to hang out with too.

Is this the path you’re on? Does this sound like you?

Then we want to meet you.

And here’s the best part:

We’re open to all sorts of professional backgrounds. We aren’t interested in candidates that just check off all the ‘right’ qualification boxes. We know that people come to competency and excellence through all sorts of journeys. We know the people we want as teammates might come from unusual places. In fact, we kind of expect it.

How do you know if Better Ventures is a good fit for you?

Everyone here shares certain common characteristics. These are also the qualities we are looking for in our new teammates:

  1. We are self-motivated, proactive and action-oriented individuals that will grab something and make it happen in a distributed, international work environment where communication and teamwork are critical.
  2. We are flexible but organized, with the ability to be creative in the planning, organizing and execution of digital, brand and participation strategies.
  3. We have fearless personalities, boundless optimism, and a desire to change the world.
  4. We always offer to help our teammates. We don’t need to be asked.

If you’re interested in having a conversation, send us an email (iseemyself@betterventures.co) sharing something extraordinary about yourself along with your CV or LinkedIn profile. We will then jump on call or, if possible, we’d love to meet up for a good cup of coffee, an after-work pint, or an urban hike.
