Here’s the situation.
Major brands are now vulnerable in ways they never were in the past. There’s an entire global ecosystem of major competitors and emerging startups working to disrupt their businesses. This is happening while consumer attitudes and desires are shifting in ways they simply can’t keep up with. Brands must change how they do business or they’ll soon be gone. But many brands simply don’t know how.
In 2018, brands need to create new value inside new business models. This means rethinking where they allocate marketing, R&D and innovation spending. This means finding new ways to partner with their customers and stakeholders. That means delivering positive social impact as a core part of their business. This is where IOVIA – a subset of Better Ventures – comes in.
At IOVIA, we help brands create new value and new revenue streams with our consumer-first participation solutions. The consumer-first portion of that is critical. We believe the single most powerful untapped asset a brand has is its consumer base. But the models they’ve used to tap into their consumers flat out don’t work. They often bleed their consumers dry and the consumer gets no return for their contributions.
Our solutions change all that. Brands and consumers both win, as part of what we call Participation Commerce.
So, how do you fit in?
We need a Europe or U.K.-based Digital Project Manager to help us plan and manage our client projects, and scale our organization. We’re a technology company and we deliver our solutions by using a combination of open-source software and our own proprietary platform. That means you need to know tech, you need to be agile and entrepreneurial and you need to be able to organize and execute complex and time sensitive projects. You also need to be able to work directly with clients.
Our team is located in both Europe and North America so you’ll also need to be flexible with your schedule. That means some evenings are required. In return you get all sorts of flexibility too. Our team mostly works remotely and so can you. We don’t care whether you’re working from a beach in Barcelona or an office in Oslo. There is no set number of vacation days. As long the job gets done, you’re good.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as key interface between IOVIA’s creative, technology, and client teams
- Works directly with our European and North American-based clients and supports the IOVIA client team in account management and project delivery activities
- Assesses project requirements and writes SOWs
- Assigns and manages project resources, budgets and milestones
- Manages project scope, execution vs SOW and deploys change requests as necessary
- Manages project communications as directed by client team
- Contributes to sales and business development
- Contributes to the overall structuring and scaling of the IOVIA organization
- Approximately 20% travel is required (primarily within Europe, occasionally to North America)
Required Qualities and Experiences
- Highly entrepreneurial mindset is a must; only self-starters thrive at IOVIA
- Must be proven as a leader with demonstrable experience and references to that effect
- Must have experience working in client-facing roles with major brands
- Ability to manage geographically dispersed resources, clients and team members
- Proven ability to manage projects in a digital agency or digitally-focused organization
- Experience working with both waterfall and agile project management methodologies
- Experience and fluency with modern social technologies and platforms
- Desire to work remotely or in our Copenhagen office
- Must be based in Europe or the U.K.
- Flexible work hours (including some evenings) are required to manage our teams/clients in Europe and North America
- Interest or experience in Blockchain is an asset
